About
Hi, I'm Joss.
I'm a qualified personal trainer with a strong bias toward strength and conditioning. Eight years in the job, and a lifetime in sport before that — I've finished the London Marathon, compete in CrossFit and Hyrox, and coach most days from a private barn in the Buckinghamshire hills.
I'm also a mother of two. Which means if you're coming back from pregnancy, surgery, or a long layoff, you're working with someone who's lived through the recovery — not just read the textbook.
My approach
-
Strength first.
Most people under-train strength and over-train everything else. I flip that.
-
Long-term thinking.
Good training compounds. We're not chasing a six-week fix.
-
Individual, not generic.
Your programme is built around your body, your history and your week — not a template.
-
Quality reps, not busy reps.
Every session has a reason.
Who I work with
Honestly? Anyone willing to show up and put the reps in. Total beginners, lifelong athletes, and everyone in between. You don't need to be fit to start, and you don't need to look a certain way to belong in the barn.
That said, a few groups find their way to me more than most. If any of these sound like you, you'll be in good company — but if none of them do, that's absolutely fine too.
- Adults who want to get properly strong — not smaller, not bootcamp-wrecked, just capable and resilient for the long run.
- Complete beginners who've never set foot in a gym and want someone to show them how, without judgement.
- Parents, including mums post-partum, rebuilding strength and fitness around family life. I'm a mother of two — I know the reality from the inside.
- People coming back from injury or surgery. With an osteopathy clinic on the same site, the barn is set up for training that's progressive when it needs to be, and careful when it needs to be.
- Weight-loss clients who are tired of chasing cardio and want a programme that actually builds something underneath.
- Event-driven athletes — marathon, Hyrox, CrossFit, obstacle races — looking for S&C that makes them better at the thing they love.
Not sure whether you fit? Drop me a note and we'll have a conversation — no pressure, no sales pitch.

The setting
I coach out of a private barn gym in the Buckinghamshire hills, attached to an established osteopathy clinic. It's semi-private — no walk-ins, no public access — and fully kitted out for strength work. For clients coming from a rehab background, having osteopathic support on the same site is a real advantage.
Want to train?
I'd love to hear a bit about you. Tell me your goals, your training history, and when you'd like to start — I'll come back with options.
